An absolute protagonist weekend for Canet at Silverstone. Immediately the fastest on Friday morning, first in both Practice sessions and second on the grid by just 52 thousandths. In the race he showed a great pace from the first laps, demonstrating the excellent feeling he found with his bike. The Spaniard found himself in third position after the first corner and managed to gain first position during the first lap, maintaining it for almost the entire race. A small mistake at the first corner of the last lap gave Jake Dixon the opportunity to make up ground and overtake Canet, who finished in second position. The excellent performance demonstrated is the result of the work carried out by the Spaniard and the Fantic Racing Moto2 Team to return to having great competitiveness, which can be showcased in the second part of the season.
It wasn't an easy weekend for Xavi Cardelus, returning from the foot injury suffered in Assen. Not being in the best physical shape didn't allow him to demonstrate his real value and the complex Silverstone circuit didn't make his task any easier. During the race the sensations were improving, with the real possibility of recovering positions. However, a fall prevented him from crossing the finish line, putting an end to his comeback.
