The month of May ended with the Catalan Grand Prix, staged at Montmelò. Team Fantic Racing worked with both riders for a long time to find the right set up for the Catalan weekend. Aron Canet achieved fourth position on the grid in qualifying, just 11 thousandths behind the riders on the front row. During the race he maintained an excellent pace until the crash at turn 5 which forced him to finish the race 7 laps early. A real shame because the pace he showed would have allowed him to aim for an excellent placing. Special weekend for Xavi Cardelus: for the Andorran driver, the Catalan Grand Prix is his home race. The #20 managed to achieve the best placing of the season, obtaining a final position of 16th.
